The tooth, the cat, the fall decor
Hello friends!
Could it be a full week of blogging? Wow. Don't count on new posts over the weekend... I'm not that good yet! I have some new pictures.
The first picture is Bo and his extreme drooliness. The two teeth are on their way! The next picture is my two zombies (Drew and Jack) next to our inflatable 'Snoofy' (as Jack calls him) on the back porch. Third is Casey-kittie. John said she was feeling neglected without a picture on the blog. I'll have to get ones of the dogs next! Next picture, this is John's next batch of beer - a Cahaba pale ale - ready in a couple weeks.

Looking back...
We had a great dinner with our friend, Molly. The little boys are home with grandpa today (YEAH GRANDPA). It finally rained at our house. I swear it's been dry for years. (a little dramatic - but it's been a while).
I hope everyone is well :)

Sleep walking, the letter 'G' and applesauce
Burke Boys Update:
- Drew is apparently sleep walking again... The night before last, he came down only an hour after going to sleep. His eyes were totally open. I asked him if he was okay, he didn't answer. Just curled up on the couch. John took him up to bed and he didn't make a peep. Sleep walking.
- Jack learns a new letter every week at 'school'. This week, it's 'G'. Every Monday I ask what letter he learned as he shows me the paper he made with the letter all over it. EVERY week he tells me 'D'. Then he guesses 'B'. While it may seem that he's just confused on Monday - it happens every day throughout the week. So anyone looking for a great toy for him for Christmas (grandparents), let's go with some alphabet-learning game/toy.
- Bo is happily eating applesauce now. He loves it. Last night, John was feeding him (he WILL NOT eat from a spoon for ME!) and when he would give a bite of cereal, he'd cry until he got the applesauce. We mixed them. He plowed through the bowl. That might be why he is a giant baby :)

Casey-kittie
Well, friends - we think Casey the cat might be pregnant. For those of you who don't know Casey, we've had her for around 3 months. Basically, she stayed on our front porch for weeks, getting skinnier and skinnier. We went ahead and fed her. Well, she's apparently ours now. If anyone wants a kitten, we may have some coming.
If she's not pregnant, she's gaining weight fast enough that we are concerned she could explode. We'll keep you posted on the cat developments...

A great weekend
We had the best weekend... We had a great dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Friday night and watched 'Surf's Up'. Jack and Bo love their time with Grandpa on Fridays. We spent Saturday just playing - going to the playground, practicing baseball, playing at the house and capped it off watching the Auburn football game. Sunday was spent going to church, Cawkie's house for Uncle Kevin's birthday lunch and then to Drew's baseball game. WHEW!
Anyway - here are some playground shots from Saturday. I also am hoping maybe Grandpa can help identify the flower in the one picture - it looks like some kind of rose... I like it.
A happy birthday to Kevin and Josh - and a very apologetically late birthday wish to Melanie!!!

The anticipation
I got the 'Mom, please stop taking my picture' look from him and when I asked him if he needed any water, I got a RESOUNDING 'Stop worrying about me!'
Gee - it's hard when they get somewhat independent!!
Good friends...
We had a great dinner with our friends Julia and Jason from college last night - it was so nice to see them. The kids behaved pretty well, as well as can be expected. I got home with the kids and realized we are more on a schedule than I realized. Bo did not want to go to sleep. Period. I put him in his crib, he rolled onto his tummy and proceeded to lift his head continuously - as to avoid going to sleep. I had to pull out the big guns (the pre-bed bottle, warmed) to get him to sleep.
We are going to see Drew run in a school fun run this morning - something about watching 25 five-year olds run 25 laps while overcaffeinated traveling track coaches cheer them on should be interesting. He raised money for the school by getting sponsors. The top prize offered was an I-Pod. In order to get the coveted I-Pod, you'd have to raise (in essence) more than $2500. Yeah right. I told him we'd rather just get him an I-Pod someday than do that. At least I was careful to not tell him Santa would bring it. That's over Santa's budget for a 5-year-old.
Speaking of - anyone with any verbal interaction with the kids (family and friends, you know who you are) - this is a VERY impressionable time for them. We are within three months of Christmas. Any goody is up for grabs from Santa. Especially things they're cousin has. I just need to talk to my sister to plan for the kids gifts. Whatever my nephew gets will be the coveted item in our house.
I'll try and get some snapshots of the big run...
