Yesterday was my grandmother's birthday - she is one spunky lady. I hope to be that hip when I am 89... Happy Birthday Gigi!!

Weekend in Auburn

We went to Auburn this past weekend for some tailgating and fun... The boys had so much fun camping there and seeing all the sites on Saturday. We went to Tiger Walk (where the team walks through campus to the stadium) and saw the Heisman Trophy. John went to the game and the boys and I played with Aunt Katie.

Happy Birthday Jack!

Jack had a great birthday this year - we had a Peter Pan party! Everything was wonderful and he was so excited to have some friends over and to get some awesome gifts. The first present to arrive was from Aunt Jackie - I am posting a picture of him with his book... He loves it.

Slacking again...

So sorry for the lack of posts... Everything has been chaotic it seems... John and the boys are camping tonight (Jack and Drew) - their first time in a real tent outside. I just talked to them and they are well and going to sleep. Bo and I went out with Aunt Katie to get things ready for Jack's big 4th birthday party tomorrow. It's a Peter Pan-themed event. I am trying to 'reel it in' and not go overboard with creating Neverland in our backyard (complete with an Indian encampment, lost boys's hideout and mermaid lagoon)...

The pictures here are from the boys day trip to a park with this jumpy ride. They apparently had a blast!!

Bo's Teeth

Bo is getting in his eye teeth and the bottom ones to the left and right of the middle bottom ones. Poor little guy! At least he likes brushing!

Jack's First Day of School

Jack started Wee-Kindergarten this week and had SO much fun. They sang songs and learned that they are each special. Awww...

He wasn't thrilled going to mom's day out last year, but now that he's in 'school' he feels like such a big guy. Here he is on the first day.

Drew's Birthday Party

We had Drew's party a couple of weeks ago. It was an Indiana Jones themed-shindig. Since the weather was quite inclement that day, we had to come up with a plan and have it inside. I came up with a scavenger hunt of sorts for him and his friends. The first was from the first movie (Raiders of the Lost Ark) and they had to climb through the snake pit (where Jack calmly asked me if the snakes would be real... they were not). The second was the Banquet at Pancok from The Temple of Doom. The kids were able to put their hands in 'monkey brains' (jello) and 'beetle guts (cold spaghetti). Finally, the had to go to the cave (the basement) with the fog machine running to find the treasure (like Indy finds the grail in The Last Crusade).

All in all, a really fun day. Drew is still talking about how much fun it was...

Thank you to all our friends and a BIG thank you to Aunt Jackie for the great books you sent my smart reading 1st grader. He has really enjoyed some new reading material!! The kids are anxious for another trip to Chicago to see you (and the Cubs!).

Catch up time

Okay, I know I have slacked on the posts... Here is a recap of what we've been up to. We had a wonderful weekend tailgating with friends in Auburn this past Saturday. Great to see so many old friends!

We are gearing up for more football and fun this weekend. Not sure if we'll make it for the game, but we are enjoying watching!!
