Drew's Birthday Party

We had Drew's party a couple of weeks ago. It was an Indiana Jones themed-shindig. Since the weather was quite inclement that day, we had to come up with a plan and have it inside. I came up with a scavenger hunt of sorts for him and his friends. The first was from the first movie (Raiders of the Lost Ark) and they had to climb through the snake pit (where Jack calmly asked me if the snakes would be real... they were not). The second was the Banquet at Pancok from The Temple of Doom. The kids were able to put their hands in 'monkey brains' (jello) and 'beetle guts (cold spaghetti). Finally, the had to go to the cave (the basement) with the fog machine running to find the treasure (like Indy finds the grail in The Last Crusade).

All in all, a really fun day. Drew is still talking about how much fun it was...

Thank you to all our friends and a BIG thank you to Aunt Jackie for the great books you sent my smart reading 1st grader. He has really enjoyed some new reading material!! The kids are anxious for another trip to Chicago to see you (and the Cubs!).
