Today is Drew's last day of kindergarten. Oh my... I could not be more proud of him. He has learned so much this year. I did embarrass him at the dropoff this morning. I took two pictures, but he refused any in his classroom.
We all watched ET last night. Wow - that will take you back. The boys loved it. They thought ET was funny, although Jack refused to call him ET - referring to him strictly as the 'alien'.
One other note about ET - when I was little, I had the louvered doors on my closet that looked exactly like the one ET lived in on the movie. I was convinced for the better part of my childhood that ET lived in my closet.
As we lounged around after the kids went to bed (the lounging only lasts for maybe a half hour), we watched a part of 'Under the Tuscan Sun' - one of my absolute favorite movies. A character in it told the main character to never lose the innocence of childhood. As Drew's year in kindergarten ends (and after a night of giggling with the kids over ET), I am really understanding that. When you lose the childlike wonder, things get overwhelming and stressful. Cheers to a fun weekend for each of you!!!
