Friday night was exciting - I took Drew and Bo to a Halloween festival with our cousin Henry. Now let me tell you that when I was little we had a Halloween carnival and I LOVED IT. It was AWESOME. Ironically, my mom was in charge each year - being the principal (yes, my mother was my catholic school principal - another story for another post). She always dreaded the carnival and I couldn't understand why. Until Friday night. Holy Cow! There were so many kids, so many games/rides, so much food. Yikes - I am sorry mom - I bet those were the LONGEST nights for you!
Sunday we had our neighborhood halloween party - complete with a jumpy thing (the Burke word for 'moon bounce'). Really, that's all you need for kids between the ages of 3 and 8 I am convinced. A jumpy thing. It's ingenious! I've actually priced them to purchase (too expensive). But how fun would it be to be like... "Hmmm... kids, wanna go jump?" and plug that bad boy in for some big fun?!?! One final note on the halloween pictures. My kids love costumes. They have the original costumes (the clone trooper and diego) and the new ones I wrote about last week (captain hook and peter pan). Well, gramma and grampa got them superhero pajamas Sunday afternoon... So guess what they wore that afternoon to the neighborhood party? You got it!
And don't forget to check the blog tomorrow - we're carving pumpkins tonight! YIKES- three boys 5 and under, five pumpkins and a sharp object - SCARY!!!!
