Sometimes it's all who you know

Every now and then you just have to be grateful for who you know... For instance, Bo is teething. Last night, I noticed that the tooth to the left of his big top teeth is about to break through the gum, but it looked gray. I freaked a little - I admit. I took a picture. After questioning many moms (both grandmothers received calls!) and google searches, my mom recommended we call our friend Mark (we just saw him and his family in Asheville). He's not only Bo's godfather, but he's also a dentist.

Genius. PURE genius. He quickly put my mind at ease. It's called an eruption cyst. Apparently there's a small fluid sac around the tooth before it breaks through and if the chew a lot, some blood can get in it and it looks gray. Anyway - there's no problem with it and it will come out when the tooth breaks through. WHEW... Thank you so much Mark - THANK YOU!!!

I thought there might be a mom out there that could use this information - in case you see it in your own kids!!

That is interesting - I've never heard of that....Thanks for the info. When we were at the Pediatrician earlier this week she said that Brooklyn was cutting two more teeth - the back ones (apparently these can be rough on a child)! I still can't feel them when I "sweep" her mouth, but...she has had a couple of sleepless nights this week...so maybe they are coming through!

Glad Bo Bear is ok and it is nothing to worry about!
